Mediation
Mediation is a way for people to solve their problems by talking, utilized for generations to resolve interpersonal conflicts successfully and in a balanced way. My House offers access to Mediators with experience in providing services for employees (including supervisor/supervisee) in corporate and non-profit workspaces, pre adjudication (victim/offender), between family members, clients and service providers as well as between neighbors and friends. Our diverse team of Mediators provide services ranging from facilitative to transformative with an emphasis on cultural sensitivity.
Referral process & timing
Upon receipt of the referral, the parties will be contacted and provided with an overview of the resources available to them as well as an opportunity to share their story with a neutral, trained and experienced Mediator. If both Parties agree to move forward, Mediators are assigned to the case, and the date and location are established at the Parties' convenience.
Adult conflicts: 1 hour interviews, 3 - 6 hours with one or two sessions to arrive at an Agreement
Young Adult conflicts: 20 minute interviews, 30 - 90 minutes with two sessions for extremely complicated issues.
The Agreement document is the property of the Parties and they have the freedom to utilize this document to demonstrate their efforts to resolve the conflict with the other Party by talking.
Mediation is guided by a set of Principles & follows a series of Steps.
