Cherry

Cherry K. Jacobs was born in Wilmington North Carolina to Thelma Jacobs and Emmett Hamlet. Cherry grew up in Cambridge MA and attended and graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School in 1985. After graduation, Cherry went on to earn her BSW with a minor in Psychology from Wheelock College and her MSW with a focus on Urban Leadership from Simmons College    


Cherry has been employed with the Department of Children and Families since 1989.  Cherry has spent her career in human services helping families develop and maintain stability always with a goal of keeping families intact and children's safety at the center. Cherry has worn many hats throughout her career working as a Mental Health and Substance Abuse clinician at Eliot Community Services where she conducted psychological evaluations and determined the mental status of the patients she served.   


Cherry is a true Cantabrigian and has spent most of her life here and is a proud mother of her daughter Jazzmyne. Cherry holds a deep passion for helping others in her community. If there is a birth, wedding, or a death in the City you can count on Cherry to be there to prepare food and support the family. She has given so much to Cambridge young people and spent 17 years volunteering as a coach and then as the Cheer Director for Cambridge Pop Warner.  Cherry is known for her good cooking and can always be seen smiling when she sees folks enjoying some of her special dishes.
