Robyn Banks, M.Ed.

Robyn Banks is a dedicated school counselor who is committed to helping students achieve social, emotional, and academic success.  She is a proud graduate of an HBCU, Clark Atlanta University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.  Robyn continued her education at Cambridge College where she later earned a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in School counseling.  Robyn brings a unique blend of knowledge and skills to her role as a school counselor. Driven by her passion for promoting resilience and self-compassion in students, Robyn pursued an advanced graduate degree in Resiliency and Self-Compassion at Assumption College.  Her understanding of these concepts allows her to support students in developing a positive mindset and healthy coping strategies, which can lead to greater success in all areas of life.

Robyn’s interest in restorative justice has led her to explore ways to interrupt the school-to-prison pipeline. She recognizes that traditional disciplinary methods may not be effective for all students and that restorative justice practices can help build stronger, more positive relationships within the school community. By using restorative justice principles, Robyn helps students understand the impact of their actions and encourages them to take responsibility for their behavior while also working to repair harm and rebuild trust.

Robyn has also seen how adults coming together in Circle for collaborative decision making, problem solving, celebrations and planning can produce results that are creative and satisfying for everyone involved.

With her extensive education and experience, Robyn is well-equipped to help students and adults navigate the challenges of adolescence and leadership.  She is passionate about empowering students to become their best selves and is committed to supporting their growth and the effectiveness of her colleagues with success both inside and outside of the classroom.
